Silvergreen bryum moss

Happy Thursday everyone! Did you know there are approximately 12,000 known species of moss. Some can even be found in Antarctica. The moss pictured below is called Silvergreen bryum moss and the things you see growing out of it are called sporophytes. They are slender stalks that support the capsules that contain spores. These spores are released once they mature.
